Where to get Coupons....

You can’t use coupons if you don’t have them right? Well you would be amazed where you can find them! Coupons are everywere..... and I’m not exaggerating (especially at my house! lol!) No, really if you are looking for them the possibilities are endless as to where you will find them!

1. The Sunday paper: By far the best and most common place to find coupons. The Sunday paper usually comes with 2-4 inserts per week, and anywhere from $100-$400 worth of savings potential. If you are serious about a coupon kind of life, you will want to make it a point to get one (usually more than one) Sunday paper per week.

2. The Internet: We Use the internet for everything, why not coupons? There are tons of places that offer online retail codes, free shipping codes, and even sites where you can print off coupons on your home printer.

Printable Coupon Websites:The most recognized and trustworthy print-at-home websites are...
These specific sites offer coupons that might be better than any you can find in your sunday paper. And, you can even customize it by putting in your own zipcode, which could result in some awesome coupons for ‘local’ kinds of products that are specific to your region of the country. These websites also usually allow each computer to print 2 like coupons, so if there is one you particularly love, print again!! Another helpful hint to these websites is that they usually reset every month with all new coupons!

Specific Store Websites: Love a certain store? Check their websites periodically to save even more! Meijer has the Meijermealbox.com feature that offers store coupons (that can be combined with manufacturers coupons) and you can also print them right at home! Go here for a How-To print MealBox coupons. Target also offers a printable coupon section on their website as does CVS.

ECoupons: these are a whole different kind of coupon. If you’re the type to get to the store and realize you left your coupons on the kitchen table, these might be for you. ECoupons are coupons that you can load onto your shoppers card (ex: kroger plus card) or redeem by plugging your phone number in at the credit card machine during the checkout process (ex: meijer mperks program). They are also done over the internet on the stores specific website, but usually can not be combined with manufacturers coupons.

Facebook: It seems as if everyone and their mother has a facebook page these days, Companies are no different. But lucky for us some of them offer incentives to ‘like’ them. Within the past year I personally have gotten free orange juice, potato chips and Chipotle! just from the printable coupons certain companies have offered through the facebook website. Retail stores are in on this trend too, Old Navy and The Children’s Place sometimes have facebook exclusive online sales or coupons.

3. Go Direct To The Company: If you are brand loyal, (meaning you only use Tide detergent, or only Huggies diapers) don’t be afraid to write a company quick letter or email letting them know just how much you love their products.  Or if you are dissatisfied with a certain product, don’t be afraid to let them know that either. Companies love hearing feedback from consumers, especially honest feedback and usually reward you with some kind of discount offer or coupons. Also signing up for rewards programs (Huggies, Pampers and even Tropicana orange juice have great ones!) can put you on a mailing list for coupons or special offers.

4. Look Around!: This is what my daughters do while I’m trying to grocery shop with three kids. It’s like a little game to find all those blinking coupon machines and pull the coupon out and a few ooohhhh’s and aaaahhhhh’s later another coupon comes out!!! And honestly, it kind of brings the little kid out in me too! Coupons are sneaky little things that sometimes like to hide, especially inside packages of certain products! I mean really how much fun is it to open a box of cereal and find not only cereal, but coupons too!! (And ya’ll thought the days of ‘prizes’ in the box were over!!) Peelie coupons (and they are called this because those little things are hard as heck to ‘peel’ off sometimes) can be found on products too. Blinkie coupons are those aforementioned ones that come out of the coupon machines in the aisles of the store (blinkie because the light on top of the machine blinks). And my personal favorite, the ones that are right there in front of your face on a display like a little sticky pad saying “i’m here take me!!” (those are called tear pad coupons).

So like I said, coupons are everywhere. And when found and redeemed can be invaluable! Here’s a big thumbs up to your ‘coupon hunt’ and then the rewarding savings resulting from it!!!
